I’ve traveled to more than 1,000 convenience stores in 24 states, and I can say with confidence that bad restrooms are bad for business. The data says so too. Restroom quality is the number one reason for negative reviews on GasBuddy, and 69% of our app’s users say they wouldn’t visit a store with less than 3 out of 5 stars.
I get a lot of questions about how to eat healthy at gas stations. People understand that it’s possible, but they’re operating on a framework that sends them straight to the pizza, donuts, and soda.
I just posted a simple “how-to” guide over at the GasBuddy blog. Check it out. This will help you make smarter, healthier decisions next time you visit a gas station.
It’s been a busy week.
I spoke at the Upper Midwest Convenience Store and Energy Convention, flew out to Boston the next morning, drove to Worcester, and spoke the following day at Core-Mark’s New England Savings Expo. I was the keynote speaker in Worcester, and I packed the room with at least 300 people–standing room only.
After that, I went back to Boston and spent a few days at the GasBuddy office before returning to Des Moines and attending the Farner-Bocken Show at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
Along the way, I encountered some amazing products. Check out my recap on GasBuddy’s blog.
It’s that time, folks. Today is National Beer Day!
We put together a fun press release over at the GasBuddy blog complete with interesting data and a recap of industry trends. For those of you in Indiana, I’m sorry to say that gas stations in many states are filling growlers with cold, craft beer on tap. You’ll get there too–once your state legislators join the future with the rest of us!
